Q:  What does Triad stand for?

A:  Triad is not an acronym. It merely represents a group of three, or the three sectors of a community that partner to keep seniors safe from crime: public safety, criminal justice, and the senior community.

 

Q:  How much does the Are You Ok? or Emergency Cell Phone program cost?

A:  Nothing.  Both program are free to all qualified Burleigh County residents

 

Q:  What is Triad's purpose

A:  Triad has two objectives, to reduce crime against seniors, and to reduce the unwarranted fear of crime that the elderly often experience.

 

Q:  How Do I Enroll?

A:  You can enroll for either program at the Burleigh County Sheriff's Department   The Are You Ok? program can also be applied for online.

 

Q  With the Are You Ok? program, when will I be contacted? 

A:  The Burleigh County automatic notification system will begin calling Wednesday mornings at 9am.  If the telephone is not answered it will continue to call every 15 minutes for 2 hours (8 total attempts).  If there is still no answer Sheriff's Deputies will be notified.

Q:  Who is eligible for the Are You Ok? program

A:  You must be a Burleigh County resident over the age of 55yrs.

 

Q: What if I know I won't be home?  What If I am on vacation?

A:  Please contact the Burleigh County Sheriff's Department at least 24 hours in advance at 222-6651 or email at triad@burleighsd.com so deputies know that nobody is home.

 

Q:  How do I cancel either program?

A;  You can cancel your participation in either program in person at the Burleigh County Sheriff's Department or by calling 222-6651

 

Q:  How do I donate an old or unused cell phone?

A:  Drop it off at the Burleigh County Sheriff's Department or follow the online instructions to receive a prepaid shipping label.
